I currently have a borwser hijacking file on my computer! It basically comes up with insulting imagery!
Ive updated and re-run adaware, it found 2 hijackers but its still there.
I can only get on a website if i type http:// before an address, otherwise it gets hijacked by this porn search engine.
Other people use this computer.
Ayone can help? Its horrible.

if you are running win xp you can edit programs that run at start up.

start -> run -> type: msconfig

select startup tab.

look down the list and uncheck any programs that are not right, i personally only have 5 that launch on startup. if you are suspicous check the command line to find out where they are run from.

once you have gotten rid of any suspects reboot the system, then run adaware.

alternativly run the pc in safe mode then run adaware

also make sure u have an up to date version of adaware they update it regualrly and the freeware version doesnt have auto updates.

a good extra is to download the google toolbar that helps get rid of pop ups etc and isnt adware it is a genuinly useful program.

then run it in safe mode as per the 2nd option, that should load up only the bear minimum microsoft services, then run adaware.

your displayed system in your signature can easily support win xp may i reccomend an upgrade?
